Food Stamp Assistance
The Center for Civil Justice offers a toll-free Food and Nutrition Program Helpline where callers can be advised if they are eligible for food stamps, and an estimate of their likely benefits.
1-800-481-4989 (Spanish assistance is available).
CCJ (with Michigan Poverty Law Program) also operates www.foodstamphelp.org. This site has information on the Food Stamp program, and a "calculator" to determine eligibility for (and amount of) food stamp benefits.
